Dog Lies Heartbroken in Shelter After Being Abandoned, but Not for Long

A senior shelter German Shepherd Dog named King was lying inside his kennel, all heartbroken and sad, after his family surrendered him. However, the fur baby did not know that amazing news was on his way. On June 17, a volunteer at the shelter took to Instagram to share the 8-year-old dog’s story in a video through the account @sharing.lov. Since then, it has gone viral, garnering more than 140K likes on the social media platform as of now.

Senior shelter dog abandoned by his family finds a new home

A heart-melting video on Instagram showcased an abandoned senior shelter German Shepherd Dog named King getting a second chance in life after finding a new home. The video has captured the hearts of many on the internet. In the caption of the post, the volunteer wrote, “Today, I was getting ready to head home after finishing my shift walking dogs at the shelter when I passed a kennel and noticed a giant German Shepherd lying quietly on his bed.” The person continued, “With all the barking and chaos inside the shelter, it’s rare to go by a kennel and see a dog that’s simply lying there. So that alone made me stop.”

After that, the volunteer revealed, “His name is King.” The person further disclosed, “King is an 8-year-old German Shepherd weighing over 100 pounds. He’s housebroken, gets along with kids, cats, and other dogs, and he’s everything you’d hope for in a best friend.” The volunteer also explained the reason why his family surrendered him to the shelter. The person wrote, “His family said he could no longer go up and down the stairs because he likely has hip dysplasia, something that’s unfortunately common in German Shepherds.”

The Instagram video began by giving a closer look at the senior shelter dog, King, sitting calmly, all alone inside his kennel. The fur baby looked so sad and heartbroken. After the volunteer took the dog to the bonding room, he started to show his friendly personality and amazing tricks. The dog’s heart became less heavy, and he started smiling again.

King was extremely gentle and absolutely adorable. However, when the volunteer returned him to his kennel, he didn’t know that his life was about to change soon. The volunteer revealed in the caption that the fur baby has found a new home. He has been adopted. The video will melt anyone’s heart.
